“Renzulli Learning” -- This is a website that will be used by teachers and the Enrichment Specialist to provide a comprehensive learning assessment of students’ interest areas and learning style.  First graders will take an online assessment to determine their strengths as learners.  A full report is used by teachers to understand how each student learns and then develop a learning experience that best meets the students individual learning needs.  The site also provides various supplemental resources to incorporate into their learning plans.    Grades K-2


“Smart Table” -- An interactive table to help reinforce concepts in Language Arts and Mathematics in the Special Education setting. It is fully integrated with our SmartBoards which allows for a smooth transition between whole-class and small-group learning.  Incorporating this cutting edge technology into our Special Education programming will further differentiate our program from other districts and attract out-of-district students.  Grades K - 2.


“Reynolds Music Library” --  Allows K-2 students to choose from an expanded selection of listening CD materials, specifically in the area of Broadway and theatrical musicals.  This genre of music will be added to the curriculum program through both class and home activities.    Grades K-2


“Teddy Bear Exchange Program” --  A one year website subscription to the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN).   The subscription will be used by the first grade teachers to enhance our Passport To Learning program by taking part in the Teddy Bear Exchange project.  First grade classes across the globe will be matched together and will exchange a teddy bear and a cultural package to share information about their school and community.   Grade 1

“Orff Instruments for General Music” -- To purchase a set of barred ORFF instruments to be used in all general music classes.  Grades 3-5


“Parent/Child Book Club” -- To pilot an extra-curricular parent-child book
club for each grade to engage in book discussions.
  This our first grant that includes parent participation.  Grades 3-5


“Yoga in the Classroom” -- To purchase books, CDs and DVDs to integrate yoga/relaxation/visualization into the classroom routine and curriculum.  Grades 3-5


“Math Games” --  To purchase Everyday Math CD-Rom games to supplement students‘ learning. Grade 4


“eBooks for the Classroom” -- To purchase additional e-books as a continuation of last year’s grant.  Grade 5


“Lifelong Literacy” -- To purchase books that would expand the 5th grade classroom libraries.  Grade 5

“Layered Earth Simulation Software” -- Software to enhance 6th, 7th & 8th grade Science curriculum providing materials and activities which will enable students to take a virtual tour through the various layers and elements of Earth. Grades 6-8


“World At Our Fingertips - Laptops for World Language & Unified Arts” -- For the purchase of 15 laptops and 1 cart to hold the laptops.  World Language students will be able to communicate with native speakers around the world via "EPals" and "Skype". The technology will enhance the Art Department curriculum with applications including iMovie, Power Point, Garage Band, United Streaming.  Grades 6-8


“Resource Room Laptops” -- For the purchase of 5 laptops and 1 cart to hold the laptops. These laptops will be shared among the special education classrooms.  This will provide more access for the students to perform a much wider variety of activities.  Grades 6-8


“6th Grade Readers Workshop” -- By supporting the Reading Workshop, these books will ensure that each student will be able to independently chose from a variety of “just right” books. Grade 6


“Skype Interviews” -- A Skype interview with non-fiction author, Seymour Simon. Students will be able to directly question the author about specific areas of interest and increase  their understanding of the genre.  Grade 6


“eBooks for the Classroom” -- Supports the use of the Kindle program to improve reading by increasing the variety of interesting books available to all students. Grade 7


“A Hidden Child’s Holocaust” -- Sponsoring speaker to present his story of living through the holocaust.  Grant covers this year and next year.    Grade 8


“US History Supplemental Program” -- Supplemental program for 8th grade History unit providing lessons, documents and activities.  Includes the last 25 years which are not covered in textbooks.    Grade 8


“8th Grade Readers Workshop” -- Books will supplement leveled eighth grade classroom libraries supporting the Reader’s Workshop . Students will have greater choice in genre as the move up in level reading. Grade 8


“TI84 Plus Graphing Calculators” -- A class set of 30 calculators for students in Algebra and Pre-Algebra. This will give the students an opportunity to gain experience using multi-function calculators and seeing graphs of various equations.  Math teachers will  be able to project their calculator to the Smart Board and guide students to a greater understanding of the uses of graphing calculators.    Grade 8
